St. Michael’s Country Day School, a secular, independent day school in Newport, RI serving students Toddlers (2 yr. olds) through grade eight is seeking to fill a position Assistant Teacher in our Early Childhood Education program. This full time position would start immediately.

Candidates must have a good understanding of the developmental needs of children ages 2 through 4 and a passion for working with this age group. Prior experience working with young children is required.

The candidates hired for this long term sub position will be expected to:

*collaborate well with and support the lead teacher

*facilitate and nurture the physical, emotional, intellectual and social development of young children

*exhibit kindness, patience, compassion and respect in all interactions with children, parents and colleagues
